BSP to adopt UP model for Assembly poll in Karnataka

Bangalore, Apr 22 (UNI) Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) National General Secretary P G R Sindhia today said his party would adopt a Uttar Pradesh model for the ensuing Karnataka Assembly election.

Talking to newspersons here today, he said the BSP would give tickets to candidates, irrespective of caste, creed, community and religion, as it did in the Uttar Pradesh Assembly poll.

Mr Scindia said the party believes in providing equal opportunities to people from all walks of life.

He said the Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati, who advocated and experimented with 'social justice for all' in the Uttar Pradesh poll, will be touring the state from May 5, starting with Kollegal and Devanahalli.

Ms Mayawati would be visiting Hospet and Chitradurg on May 12, Belgaum and Hubli on May 17 and Gulbarga and Bidar on May 18, as part of the election tour, he added.

H N Nanjegowda, who joined BSP a few days ago, criticised the Janata Dal (S) supremo H D Deve Gowda, for seeking vote as a regional party. It is time that Mr Gowda sets an example by tendering his resignation as President of JD(S), he added.
