21 teachers found absent from duty during sudden checking

Rupnagar, Apr 22 (UNI) As many as 21 teachers were found absent from their duty during the sudden checking of the elementary schools in the Rupnagar district conducted by various teams constituted by the district administration for this purpose.

Giving this information Deputy Commissioner B Purushartha said that 62 teams constituted by the administration conducted simultaneous checking of the 650 elementary schools of the district immediately after the opening of the schools.

He said during the checking out of 1769 teachers posted in the schools, 1445 teachers were found present and 284 teachers were found to be on leave while the remaining 21 teachers were found to be absent from their duty.

The Deputy Commissioner said that he himself checked the primary schools at village Bairampur, Hussainpur, Ladal, Malikpur and Khwaspura while the SDMs and BDPOs were also involved in work for checking of the schools. The monitoring of work regarding the checking of school was done He said that disciplinary action would be a taken as per rules against the teachers found absent from their duty.

He said that such sudden checking of the schools would also be continued in future to tackle the problem of absenteeism of the teachers. Besides this sudden checking of the civil and veterinary dispensaries and Anganwari centers would also be conducted to ensure the presence of doctors and Anaganwari workers there, he added.
