Reliance moves towards smaller towns

Aizawl, Apr 21: Reliance Telecom Limited(RLT) is launching an ambitious plan to cover smaller towns with a population of as low as 3000. RTL has covered as many as 16 important towns in Mizoram. Out of the total eight district headquarters, only one district headquarters has been left out. RTL today announced the appointment of its second customer service centre in Tuikual area that will be able to issue post paid as well as prepaid connections apart from functioning as customer care centre.

Presently, Mizoram has a total sub-base of 5,00,00 plus RTL customers and there had been a huge response to various offers from RTL since recent past, a company source said today. If further claimed that RTL offers a rich bouquet of 'value added services' and several other facilities. GPRS facilities also has been tested and launched in Aizawl, the facility of which is being initially offered to post-paid subscribers.

The cost of availing the facility will be Rs 249 per month for unlimited access. RTL is now operational in all the states of the northeast region. Reliance roaming has been offered to all postpaid customers at no extra cost. The service is already popular with postpaid customers who are frequent visitors to the destinations of the company, company sources claimed.

BSE Sensex opens firm at 14,191.34 pts

Mumbai, Feb 22:  The BSE Sensex today resumed high at 14,191.34 points against 14,188.49 points on the previous day's close on fresh speculative demand from Foreign Institutional Investors(FIIs) and mutual funds. The market opened firm, tracking firm Asian markets and data showing greater buying by FIIs.Index heavyweights Reliance Industries and Bharti Airtel edged higher.
