Bomb hoax at 'Kendriya Sadan' in Hyderabad

Hyderabad, Apr 21: An anonymous phone call which said bombs were planted at the 'Kendriya Sadan' (Central Government office complex) here turned out to be a hoax today.

Police said Satyanarayana, an attender of the Official Liquidator of Andhra Pradesh High Court office, received an anonymous call that bombs were planted in the office complex and would explode anytime. The attender immediately informed the higher authorities, who in turn alerted the police. Bomb squads immediately rushed to the spot and conducted thorough searches in the complex and the premises.

However, no explosive was found. The complex was located less than 100 m away from Gokul Chat, where the terrorists had triggered blasts on August 25 last year, claiming more than 30 lives. Meanwhile, vehicular traffic came to a standstill for more than an hour at the busy Koti area as the police blocked the roads and diverted the traffic.
