India and Mexico sign agreements in energy sectors

Mexico City, Apr 18th 2008 : India and Mexico signed agreements in energy and aviation sectors on April 17 during the maiden visit of Indian President Pratibha Devisingh Patil to Latin America. India's junior minister for new and renewable energy, Vilas Muttemwar signed the agreement with Georgina Kessel, Mexican secretary of energy.

Patil, who reached Mexico on Wednesday said both the countries face similar challenges and should work together.

Rice questions why Saudi might need nuke energy

Washington, Dec 16: US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice today questioned why oil-rich Saudi Arabia might want nuclear power and said she wanted to know more about plans by Gulf states to study nuclear energy. ''I'd like to know more about it and I think it's something that we should have discussions (about),'' Rice told Reuters when asked about the six-member Gulf Cooperation Council's decision to study a possible joint civil atomic program......
