RJD demands compensation for cracker factory blast victims

Patna, Apr 19 (UNI) The RJD has expressed sorrow over the death of eight people in a blast in a cracker factory in Jehanabad district today and demanded that the Bihar government pay Rs five lakh as compensation to the next of the kin of each victim.

Senior RJD leader and former state minister Mundrika Singh Yadav visited the Patna Medical College and Hospital to inquire about the condition of those who were injured in the incident.

''Blast victims were poor and the state government should pay Rs five lakhs as compensation to the next of their kin,'' he said adding arrangements should be made for treatment of the injured also.

Mayawati threat to UPA government not 'political decision': Congress
