Kashmir: 1 Pak infiltrator among 3 militants killed

Baramulla, Apr 19: A Pakistani infiltrator was among three militants killed by the security forces in north Kashmir today, official sources said.

They said troops guarding the Line of Control (LoC) noticed a group of militants sneaking into this side from Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (POK) in Keran sector early this morning under the cover of darkness.

When challenged and asked to surrender, militants opened fire.

The fire was returned and in the clash one infiltrator was killed.

Search was still going on in the area when reports last came in, they said.

Sources said security forces launched a search operation at Varnoo, Lolab, in the frontier district of Kupwara following a tip off about the presence of militants there.

During the operation, militants fired upon the security forces with automatic weapons. Troops also retaliated and in the fierce clash two militants were killed. Two ak rifles and other arms and ammunition were recovered from the slain militants.

India, Pak Auditors General discuss cooperation

New Delhi, Mar 13: India and Pakistan today agreed to strengthen cooperation between the Supreme Audit Institutions (SAI) of the two countries in areas of public audit and accounts. Pakistan's Auditor General Mohammed Yunis Khan, currently on a five-day visit o India, met Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) Vijayendra Kaul and discussed with him ways to strengthen cooperation between the SAIs of the two countries. Mr Khan who arrived here yesterday, also met senior officials.....
