KBKMHU members threaten to go on mass leave from April 21

Bhubaneswar, Apr 18 (UNI) Around 500 employees of the KBK Mobile Health Unit (KBKMHU) today threatened to go on mass leave from April 21 and sit on a dharna in front of the residence of Health Minister Sanatan Bisi, if their demands were not met by then.

KBKMHU Employees Association General Secretary Debabrata Barik told newspersons here that they took the decision to agitate as the authorities did not concede to their demand, despite several appeals.

The demands included regularisation of the services of all doctors, pharmacists, women health workers, attendants and drivers and a payscale at par with the government employees.

Dr Barik said though they had been working in MHU since 1996, their services had not been regularised till now.

The government had enhanced the incentives for the doctors of KBK districts twice but the no enhancement had been made in the emoluments of employees of MHU since 2002.

Dr Barik said a large number of posts were lying vacant in the KBK districts and demanded that the government absorb them in those posts.
