Hyderabad has antidote for hurricane McCullum: Laxman

Kolkata, Apr 19 (UNI) Deccan Chargers of Hyderabad have an ''antidote'' for hurricane Brendon McCullum as the Hyderabadis take on already charged-up Kolkata Knight Riders in the DLF-IPL match at Eden Gardens here tomorrow.

VVS Laxman, the skipper of the Deccan Chargers, today said his final side would be named before the match as Chaminda Vaas, Chamara d'Silva, both Sri Lankans, were expected here by tonight, adding, '' Still we are prepared to stop McCullum while referring to his yesterday's blitzkrieg of 152 not out in 73 balls against Royal Challengers in Bangalore last night. '' There were no words about Herschlle Gibbs and Shahid Afridi as both might join the side at later stage.

'' I'm looking forward and excited to play against my former captain Sourav Ganguly in Eden in the new format of cricket Twenty-20 as new version of cricket has changed a lot, '' Laxman said while referring to his 282 against Aussies in 2001 here.

With Adam Gilchrist, Andrew Symonds and allrounder Scott Styris in his side, Hyderabad was here to live up to the expectation to face the new challenge, Laxman said.

Hyderabad arrived here this morning and had some physical training to acclimatise with the humid condition and soaring temperature.

Referring to India's tour of Australia and acrimony among the players, Laxman said it was past and Gilchrist and Andrew had already amicably mixed up with the local boys to share their experience and strategy with team members.
