Govt should take strict actions to cap price rise: Bajaj

Mumbai, Apr 19 (UNI) Government must take some more strict actions to crub the price rise of essential articles and ensure the relief benefit the consumers, Rajya Sabha member and Bajaj Group Chairman Rahul Bajaj said today.

Mr Bajaj told newspersons on the sidelines of the Indian Merchants' Chambers Ladies' wing award ceremony here that the steep rise in metal and food prices needs to be contained. Though the government had taken some initiatives, the issue needs more attention, he said.

When asked about the impact of soaring prices of steel and aluminium on the auto industry, he said the auto industry including Bajaj Auto, would be affected. However, price rise in the auto industry will depend on market competition, Mr Bajaj added.
