Fighting Rastogi goes down in semi-final

Beijing, Apr 19 (UNI) A fighting Karan Rastogi lost to local challenger Zhe Li in the semi-final of the 15,000 dollar ITF tournament here today.

The fourth seeded Rastogi, who had won the doubles event yesterday along with his partner Ashutosh Singh, put up a tenacious display in first set before going down 6-7 (6) 4-6 to his unseeded opponent.

Spin Boldak (Afghanistan), Dec 16: Taliban today denied accusations by Afghan leaders the group was being sponsored by Pakistan, an issue souring relations between the two nations. A senior rebel commander, Hayat Khan, said Afghan President Hamid Karzai was trying to hide his own failure and the Taliban movement lived only on the support of ordinary people. ''Karzai's allegations are baseless. We neither have any links with Pakistan nor is the country helping.....

Bangladesh relaxes restrictions on leaders

Dhaka, May 11: Bangladesh's army-backed interim government has eased restrictions on former prime ministers Sheikh Hasina and Begum Khaleda Zia after criticism that the two women had been placed under virtual house arrest, officials said today. Leaders of Hasina's Awami League met her at home yesterday without ''haggling by security forces'' they said today Friday, while Hasina was allowed out of her home to visit a relative. But security officials still prevented ordinary.....
