Washington, Apr 19 : Actor Eddie Murphy has been roped in to star in the remake of 'The Incredible Shrinking Man.'

Director Brett Ratner of 'Rush Hour' fame is in talks to helm an updated version of the 1957 sci-fi classic starring Grant Williams, to be produced by Brian Grazer.

With a comedic approach, the film revolves around a famous Las Vegas magician who is put under a spell that causes him to shrink. He must find a way to reverse the spell before he gets so small that he 'disappears', reports the Hollywood Reporter

Thomas Lennon and Robert Ben Garant have penned the screenplay.

Ratner's current projects include one of the "New York, I Love You", an anthology film. At Universal, he is also attached to direct "Playboy," Grazer's project about Hugh Hefner.
