BJP's Goel meets Home minister over Delhi's law and order

New Delhi, Apr 19 (UNI) Bharatiya Janata Party's newly-appointed national general secretary Vijay Goel today met Union Home minister Shivraj Patil over the ''deteriorating'' law and order situation in the national capital.

''The incidents of rape, dacoities, chain snatching are on the rise in Delhi...people especially the senior citizens, to do feel safe,'' Mr Goel told the Home Minister.

The BJP leader also demanded an all-party meeting on the issue and asked Mr Patil to review the police functioning.

''He assured me to take appropriate steps to deal with the situation,'' Mr Goel claimed after the meeting.

Second round of Shimla motorcycle challenge gets underway tomorrow

Shimla, Apr 19 (UNI) The second round of the Shimla Motorcycle Challenge gets underway tomorrow with 35 motorcyclists from north India taking part in the event. Mumbai, Apr 19: MPs and VIPs holding up flights is what recent NDTV survey reveals. Thought the air travel service in India is fast developing it is still caught in the rampan of bureaucracy. Afghanistan arrests 68 Pakistani nationals

Kabul, Apr 19 : Security forces in Afghanistan arrested 68 Pakistani men immediately after they crossed the Afghan-Pakistan border over suspected links with the Taliban, the defence ministry said on Saturday. The ministry acted on a intelligence tip off that a group of Pakistanis having links with the Taliban was entering the country. "The army ... detained yesterday 68 unarmed Pakistani nationals. They are being investigated," the ministry said in a statement. Defence Ministry spokesman General Mohammad Zahir Azimi.....
