17 killed, 35 hurt in Bangladesh bus mishap

Dhaka, April 19 : At least 17 people, including women and children, were killed on Saturday, when the bus in which they were travelling overturned on a Bangladesh highway.

Preliminary details available quoted the police as saying that the mishap occurred at Kalihati, 130 km northwest of Dhaka.

Police officials said that 35 people were also injured in the accident. They blamed the mishap on the bus driver who was driving the vehicle at very high speed. Further details are awaited.

New Delhi, Mar 11: The world's largest armoured vehicle manufacturing unit is to be set up in India by this mid-year under a 51:49 joint venture between the British armoured vehicle maker Armet and the country's Indian technical textile producer Shri Lakshmi Cotsyn.The facility -- to come up at Malwan, near Kanpur -- is expected to be operational by July later this year with an initial roll-out capacity of 300 luxury armoured vehicles for VIPs per annum.The unit would be later.....
