U'khand govt, NKC to ensure clean Ganga

Dehradun, Apr 16 (UNI) The Uttarakhand Government will collaborate with the National Knowledge Commission(NKC) to ensure cleanliness of the Ganga, Chief Minister B C Khanduri has said.

In a video conference with NKC Chairperson Sam Pitroda, Mr Khanduri said two teams from Gaumukh to Gangotri and Rishikesh to Hardwar would conduct the Ganga Action Plan for pollution control. Local people and self help groups would be roped in for assistance and would be imparted general awareness on the action plan.

The Chief Minister said a committee would be constituted under the NKC to study work on the action plan and the NKC would provide the needful assistance to ensure that the holy river remains clean.
