Special teams to check flow of illicit liquor

Mysore, Apr 16 (UNI) The Excise department has constituted special teams and set up 12 control rooms in the district to check the flow of illicit liquor during the Assembly elections.

The teams at each police stations would be headed by an executive magistrate comprising officials from police, excise and other departments.

The teams would keep an eye over manufacturing of illicit liquor, its stocking, transportation, sales and distribution.

Authorities had appealed to the public to bring to their notice instances of illicit liquor manufacturing or distribution, Deputy Commissioner of Excise, Mysore, K Bheemappa said in a release here today.
