Shramjivi blast case put off till Apr 29

Jaunpur, Apr 16 (UNI) A local court today deferred the hearing into the Shramjivi blast case till April 29.

The three accused -- Obaid-ur-Rehman, Hilal-ud-din and Nafikul, presently incarcerated in the Jaunpur district prison -- were produced before Additional District and Sessions Judge (III) Rajendra Chandra.

As documents could not be brought from Tihar jail, the case was put off till April 29.

The July 28, 2005 blast near Halpalganj-Singramau railway station in the district had killed at least 14 people and grievously wounded 90 others.

Kakinada, Andhra Pradesh, Apr 16 (UNI) Two boys were killed on the spot when their cycle was hit by a speeding lorry near the telephone exchange in Madhavapuram road on the outskirts of Pithapuram town. Lepchas pilgrimage aborted midway

Gangtok, Apr 16 (UNI) A pilgrimage of 500 odd Lepchas from Darjeeling to Dzongu in North Sikkim was today aborted midway at Dikchu in east Sikkim fearing hostility by local Lepchas. The Lepchas started their journey from Triveni in Darjeeling and reached Dikchu, the main entry point to Dzongu, yesterday and were obstructed by the locals, who termed the pilgrimage ' political'.
