Don't be nave to think England players won't join IPL: Vaughan

London, Apr.16 : England cricket captain Michael Vaughan has said that cricket administrators in his country would be "naive" to think England players will not join the Indian Premier League in the future.

England players are currently barred by their cricket board from taking part in the Twenty20 competition under terms of their central contracts.

But with huge sums of money on offer, the likes of Ryan Sidebottom, Kevin Pietersen and Andrew Strauss have expressed an interest to play, reports The Sun.

Vaughan believes it is a matter of time before their wishes are granted.

"I've heard so many people say that all the best players are in the world are there and you want to go and play in it. So, I think we're all naive if we don't think that England players are going to end up playing in the IPL," he was quoted, as saying.

"I'm excited to see how it looks when it starts on Friday, I think is there going to be a lot of passion from the players who play and those watching in the stands. It is certainly looking like a very exciting spectacle. I've seen a few of the previews over in India with the adverts and the billboards, and it looks like it is going to be a big event," he concluded.
