Native of Assam held for killing Orissa couple

Kottayam, Apr 16 (UNI) Police today arrested a man from Assam in connection with the murder of a couple from Orissa on April 13.

Pradeep Borah (28), son of Khogan Borah, of Jayampur village in Dhemaji district, Assam was arrested by police in connection with the murder of an Orissa couple, Sreedhar and Swarajalakshmi.

According to police, he was nabbed from Perumbavoor.

Police questioned as many as 500 workers from Assam, Orissa and Maharashtra to collect evidence in the murder case.

Financial problem with the workers in Sreedhar's company was said to be the reason behind the brutal killing of the couple.

The others accused in the murder case-- Digandar Sangme, Dibankar Changmni, Pokhanthar and Gethu, all from Dhemaji district escaped to Assam.

Meanwhile, Sreedhar and Swarajlakshmi were cremated at the NSS crematorium at Muttambalam here yesterday.
