Court grants conditional permission to Salman for foreign visits

Jodhpur, Apr 16 (UNI) A local court has granted conditional permission to Bollywood Star Salman Khan, an accused in the chinkara poaching case, to undertake foreign visits.

An application was moved by the actor's counsel Hasti Mal Saraswat before Judicial Magistrate Dalpat Singh Rajpurohit, to seek permission for him to undertake visit to London between April 23 and 28 to participate in Zee Cine Awards and to Australia between April 30 and June 5 for a film's shooting.

The Magistrate allowed the actor to go abroad on a condition that he would appear in the court, if needed.

Salman is an accused, along with co-actors Saif Ali, Tabbu, Neelam and Sonali Bendre, in a case of poaching of two black bucks in Kankani village under the Luni police station on October 1, 1998.

A case under the Arms Act is also pending before the court against Salman.

Besides this, two appeals filed by the state government in two more cases of poaching against Salman were also pending before the Rajasthan High Court.

Salman's lawyer has also moved an application for grant of permission for foreign visit before the High Court but the court is yet to take a decision on his request.
