Capt Deepak Shastri new Karippur airport director

Kozhikode, Apr 16 (UNI) Capt Deepak Shastri has taken over as the new director of the Karippur International Airport here.

He replaced Mr R Veeraswami, who had been transferred to Guwahati Airport.

A former Director of Pune Airport, Capt Shastri joined the Airports Authority of India in 1990.

A Mechanical Engineering graduate, he had also served the Electrical and Mechanical Engineering (EME) wing of the Indian Army for 10 years.

Bangalore, Feb 10: Karnataka will be completely shutdown on Feb 12 from 6 am to 6pm to support statewide bandh called by Kannada organisations against the Cauvery Water Disputes Tribunal verdict. Mortar attack on girls school in Baghdad, 5 killed

Baghdad, Jan 28: Five female pupils were killed in a mortar strike on a secondary school in the predominantly Sunni Adil district of western Baghdad today, the school's principal told sources.Principal Fawziya Swadi said two mortars landed in the schoolyard where many pupils were gathered. The blasts blew in classroom windows, spraying pupils with glass shards that accounted for some injuries.
