BSP set to win 3 Assembly, 1 LS seats in UP

Lucknow, Apr 16 (UNI) Ruling Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) is set to win most of the seats out of the two Lok Sabha and three assembly seats where by-elections were held on April 12.

Except for Azamgarh Lok Sabha seat, BSP candidates were well ahead against their opponents in one LS and three assembly seats.

In Azamgarh, SP candidate Balram Singh Yadav was just ahead by a slender margin of over 300 votes against BSP candidate Akbar Ahemd Dumpy after third round of counting. BJP candidate Ramakant Yadav was trailing in the third spot.

In Khalilabad LS seat, BSP candidate Kushal Tiwari was leading by over 11,900 votes against SP candidate Bhalchand Yadav after three rounds of counting.

In the Assembly seats, in Bilgram, BSP candidate Ms Rajni Tiwari has taken an undefeatable lead of over 21,000 votes against nearest SP candidate Vishram Singh Yadav while in Colonelganj seat BSP nominee Brij Singh was leading by over 10,000 votes against SP candidate Yogesh Pratap Singh after 16 round of counting.

In Muradnagar seat, the ruling BSP candidate Rajpal Tyagi was ahead by 1400 votes after 5 rounds of counting.

The results of all the seats are expected late in the afternoon.

The bypoll to two parliamentary constituencies was necessitated after Ramakant Yadav, sitting MP from Azamgarh, and Bhalchand, the sitting MP from Khalilabad were disqualified under 10th Schedule of the Constitution.

By-elections for Colonelganj and Muradnagar assembly seats was necessitated following the resignation of Congress and Independent MLAs holding the seats, while in Bilgram assembly constituency, the bypoll took place after death of BSP member Upendra Tiwari.

Manned spaceship to Moon and Mars!

Moscow, Aug 22: The Russian Federal Space Agency (Roskosmos) head Anatoly Perminov today said it would develop a manned transport spaceship for flights to the International Space Station (ISS), the Moon and Mars with the European space agency .
