Bodies of two BRO men to arrive home today



New Delhi, Apr 16 : The bodies of the two Border Roads Organisation (BRO) engineers, who were killed in Afghanistan blast on Saturday, are expected to arrive home this afternoon.

M P Singh from Varanasi is survived by his wife, 14-year-old daughter and 12-year-old son.

45-year-old Govindasamy had been working in Afghanistan for the past year and is survived by his wife Sivagami, three daughters and a son.

Earlier, the Indian Government had confirmed the death of the two Indian BRO engineers in a blast in southwest Afghanistan.

A Taliban spokesman called up a news agency in Afghanistan and claimed responsibility for the incident.

Nearly 400 BRO personnel are engaged in the construction of a crucial 218-km highway between Zaranj and Delaram in Afghanistan as part of India's assistance programme for the reconstruction of the war-torn country.
