2 HC Judges Transferred - 10 Additional Judges Named

New Delhi, Apr 16 (UNI) Two High Court Judges have been transferred and ten Additional Judges appointed by President Pratibha Patil, the Law and Justice Ministry announced today.

Gauhati HC Judge Ram Bhawan Misra and Rajasthan HC Judge Pradeepkumar Bhadrayulal Majmudar have been transferred respectively to Himachal Pradesh and Bombay HCs, an announcement said.

It indicated that the Judges transferred after consultation with India's Chief Justice K G Balakrishnan have been given until April 30 to assume charge.

The Ministry also announced the appointment of eight Additional Judges of the Bombay HC and one each of Madras and Kerala HCs.

The Bombay HC appointees: Ashok Pitamber Bhangale, Anand Vasant Nirgude, Rajiv Yadunath Ganoo, Nandkishor Digambar Deshpande, Rekha Prakash SondurBaldota, Kailaschand Uttamchand Chandiwal, Santosh Champalal Bora and Ashutosh Arvind Kumbhakoni.

The appointees, in that order of seniority, will each have a two year term from the dates they assume charge of their respective offices.

Additional Judges Meenakshi Sundaram Sathyanarayanan of the Madras HC and Mavulli Cholakkode Hari Rani of the Kerala HC will also have two year terms each.

Cyclists knocked down by speeding lorry in AP

Kakinada, Andhra Pradesh, Apr 16 (UNI) Two boys were killed on the spot when their cycle was hit by a speeding lorry near the telephone exchange in Madhavapuram road on the outskirts of Pithapuram town.
