
Dhaka, Apr 16: At least seventeen people were killed and 20 injured when an express train rammed into a passenger bus at a rail crossing in northern Bangladesh today, a leading daily reported.
The Dhaka-bound Ekota Express coming from Dinajpur hit the bus at about Kalihati upzila of Tangailat (about 80 km north of Dhaka) 0300 hrs (local time), killing 16 people on the spot and injuring 21 others, police said. Of the wounded, one died after being admitted to a local hospital, The Daily Star quoted police officials as saying.
