Vaishmo Devi pilgrim couple looted in Katra

Jammu, Apr 14: An elderly couple from Jaipur was looted by ''Zahar Khurani Gang'' on their way to holy cave shrine of Mata Vaishno Devi at Katra, police sources today said.

The victims, identified as Ram Lal,(65) and his wife Ganpati Devi, (55), of Jaipur (Rajasthan), were on their way to holy cave shrine on Trikuta hills of Katra when some unidentifed youths befriended them on Saturday night.

''The couple was offered tea by the boys. Soon after taking it, both fell unconscious and the boys took away their belongings, including cash and gold ornaments,'' sources said.

The duo were shifted to the hospital by police after some devotees saw them unconscious en route.

Police have registered a case and started investigation into the matter.

Several similar cases of loot by the members of ''Zahar Khurani Gang'' in trains and rest houses by offering their victims biscuits and tea have been registered by police.

India, Pak Auditors General discuss cooperation

New Delhi, Mar 13: India and Pakistan today agreed to strengthen cooperation between the Supreme Audit Institutions (SAI) of the two countries in areas of public audit and accounts. Pakistan's Auditor General Mohammed Yunis Khan, currently on a five-day visit o India, met Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) Vijayendra Kaul and discussed with him ways to strengthen cooperation between the SAIs of the two countries. Mr Khan who arrived here yesterday, also met senior officials.....
