Pauper's paintings rake in 2.1 million pounds

London, Apr 14 : The paintings of an artist, who had just 12 pounds in his name when he died, have fetched him 2.1million pounds at an auction.

Skint Robert Lenkiewicz of Plymouth, Devon owed 2 million pounds to the taxman and creditors and had left nothing to his numerous mistresses and 11 kids.

His debts were cleared after his paintings raked in 2.1million pounds at an auction on Apr 12.

"Since his death his reputation has grown in stature," The Sun quoted auctioneer Richard Bearne, as saying.

There were hundreds of paintings along with books on witches, vampires and sex, which raised double its estimate.
