Mumbai, Apr 14: The Mumbai Indians IPL team today launched its star-studded advertisement campaign for the inaugural Twenty20 championship beginning April 18, using Bollywood star Hrithik Roshan, as a die-hard fan, who espouses the true character and values of a Mumbai Indian. The ad film, created by O&M Executive Director and Creative Head Piyush Pandey, will see Hrithik singing the team's theme song 'Duniya Hila Denge' as he leads their fan club ''MI Paltan'' in support of their captain, master blaster Sachin Tendulkar.

Speaking to mediapersons here today, Hrithik said ''Mumbai Indians have come a long way as facilitators in achieving a common dream of an Indian World Champ. The Twenty20 tournament will see not only some of the best players in the country coming here to play - it will be much, much more than that.'' He said the team now in its embryonic stage, is a thrust in that direction. ''Our young talent led by Sachin Tendulkar will enter into the world of cricketing sports with high spirits, sparkle in their eyes and fire in their belly to simply achieve greater heights and touch the stars,'' he added.

Indiawin Sports Director and promoters of Mumbai Indians R Balachandran, speaking about Hrithik being on board of Mumbai Indians said ''Hrithik has captured the intensity of Mumbai cricket lovers from the fierce competitiveness of gully cricket to the passion of young professionals to the exuberance of the youth.''
