Manipur, Apr 14, 2008 : Pradeep Kumar, an AIDS patient and a body building champion of Manipur has been appointed as the brand ambassador by Manipur AIDS Control Society or MACS.

37-year-old Pradip Kumar Singh feels that more and more people should come forward and fight the disease and the stigma attached to it.

Death to Medics for infecting children with HIV

Libya, Dec 19: A doctor and five nurses have been sentenced to death for knowingly infection hundreds of children with HIV by a Libyan Court.The 5 Bulgarian nurses and a Palestinian Doctor have been in detention since 1999. 52 of the 426 infected children have died of AIDS in the time period.The nurses and doctor were sentenced to death in 2004, but the Supreme Court quashed the ruling after protests over the fairness of the trial. Australian aid of $330,000 for HIV/AIDS progs in NE

New Delhi, May 22: Australia announced an additional aid of 330,000 USD for the HIV/AIDS and drugs prevention programmes in Nagaland, Meghalaya, Manipur and Mizoram.
