New Delhi, Apr 14 (UNI) In yet another incident of rape of a minor in Delhi and the second in two days, a two-and-half-year-old girl was allegedly raped in West Delhi, police said today.

The girl was raped by a 22-year-old near her house in Raghbir Nagar area last night, DCP (West) Sharad Agarwal said today.

He said a complaint was lodged by the girl's parents last night that Lallan, a rickshaw puller, took the girl out from the house on some pretext and allegedly raped her at around 2200 hrs last night.

A distant relative, Lallan had come to their residence along with his brother-in-law Rajesh, who runs a tea stall nearby, to attend a memorial function of the girl's grandfather, who died recently.

The girl was rushed to Deen Dayal Upadhyay hospital, where a medical examination was conducted which confirmed rape, the police said.

While Lallan is absconding, Rajesh has been detained for interrogation. A case has been registered and efforts are on to nab Lallan, police added.

This is the second case of a minor being raped by persons known to the victims in the past two days in the city.

In a shocking incident, a mentally challenged girl, who couldn't speak or hear, was raped allegedly by a bus driver, in east Delhi yesterday.
