Airport Security officer complains against Customs official

Hyderabad, Apr 14 (UNI) Police are investigating the alleged attack by a Customs official on the security personnel of the new International airport here, based on a complaint lodged by the Chief Security Officer (CSO) of the airport, being run by the GMR Group at Shamshabad in the city today.

Police said investigations were on into the allegations levelled by the security official that the Customs Inspector did not cooperate with the security and was not in his uniform when he came to the airport from canteen.

After the investigation, a case would be registered against the customs official.

The security personnel of 'Raksha', an internal security agency of the GMR group, had stopped Customs official D J Karthik and sought his identity card. When the guard was not convinced even after Mr Karthik showed his identity card, a heated argument ensued between the duo last night.

Meanwhile, Mr Karthik had also lodged a complaint against the CSO and others, alleging that they assaulted him last night. A case under section 353 of IPC was booked against the CSO and others.

Global price rise: UK Supermarkets for rationing rice

London, Jun 1: The global price rise in the international market has forced some of the major Supermarkets for rationing rice after panic-buying by customers worried about food shortage. However, most of the limits have been introduced in areas of Leicester which have large Asian populations.
