Under trial misbehaves with Judicial Magistrate

Fatehabad, Apr 13: A theft accused, apparently irked by the pendency of the case, allegedly used abusive language against the judicial magistrate in a court at Tohana in this district.

The theft accused, Sunil alias Bacchi, when he was produced before the court of Sub Divisional Judicial Magistrate Bhupinder Nath yesterday, insisted to the judge to either convict him or acquit him, saying he was fed up with prolonged hearings.

However, when the judge ignored him, the accused started using abusive language against the court and was about to ''attack'' the judge when he was over powered by the public prosecutor and the cops.

The court has reported the incident to the Punjab and Haryana High Court for initiating proceedings of Contempt of Court against the accused.

The case of the accused was still at the state of evidence, according to the public prosecutor Om Parkash Bishnoi.
