PETA all praises for Beyonce Knowles

Washington, Apr 13: With newly wed Beyonce Knowles ending her love affair with fur, animal rights group People For The Ethical Treatment Of Animals (PETA) is more than happy to put an end to their war with the singer.

In fact PETA is now all praises for the 'Baby Boy' singer, who was once near the top of its 'hitlist' because of frequent sightings of her wearing fur coats. One of PETA members even won an auction to have lunch with the 26-year-old singer, only to make her see video footage showing animals being skinned for fur. However, the group has now changed its opinion about her and is convinced that she's now fur-free.

"Celebrities know that the easiest way to keep PETA off their backs is by keeping fur off their backs. Time will tell if Beyonce is truly committed to being fur-free, but all indications are that she's become a real 'dreamgirl' for fur-bearing animals," Contactmusic quoted PETA Vice President Lisa Lange, as saying.

In fact, the PETA bosses have sent her a fake fur throw as a wedding present to mark her marriage to Jay-Z last week, with a note that read: "From all of us at PETA, we wish you much happiness in your life together. Please accept this faux-fur throw with many good wishes and a hope from us that together, you'll be a fur-free couple!"
