Precious stones seized at NSCBI airport

Kolkata, Apr 12 (UNI) Customs officials at the Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose International (NSCBI) airport have seized precious stones - ruby and sapphire - worth Rs 19 lakh from a garments carrier.

sources said here today.

Tarakeswar Gupta, aged 34, a city resident, arrived from Bangkok last night with a huge consignment of garments, sources said.

The presious stones were concealed under the garments. Gupta failed to produce any valid document for importing the valued stones, sources added.

Tehran, Feb 25: Iran has launched a missile capable of reaching space, Iran's state television Web site reported today, quoting an Iranian aerospace official.The comments came a day after Defence Minister Mostafa Mohammad Najjar said the Islamic Republic was planning to build a satellite and launcher.Iran launched its Sina-1 satellite into orbit from a Russian rocket in 2005 and has previously said it planned to modify its Shahab-3 missile to launch satellites.''Iran has successfully launched.....

India, Japan resolves to fight terror, enhance Defence
