PCB postpones emergency meeting

Lahore, Apr 12 (UNI) The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has postponed the emergency meeting of its Governing Board which was scheduled to be held here today.

According to the media reports, PCB chairman Dr Nasim Ashraf - under the current political change in the country- is keen to take a vote of confidence from the members for which the today's meeting was apparently scheduled.

The PCB had not issued any agenda for the meeting nor were any invitation letters sent to the members, it was still said to be an important meeting which will now take place at a later date.

It has been further learnt that the president of Karachi Region, Mohammad Ali Shah, also a board member, was likely to face severe criticism for speaking against the five-year ban imposed on fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar in today's meeting.

Bangalore, Feb 27: Counting of votes polled in the assembly elections in Punjab, Uttarakhand and Manipur began this morning amid tight security. The results so far are In Punjab(116 seats)  Akali-BJP to form Government.  Sidhu leading by 78000 votes in Amritser.
