India struggling at 88 for two after first session

Kanpur, Apr 12 (UNI) After a shaky start, India were 88 for the loss of two wickets at lunch on the second day of the third and final Test here today.

Rahul Dravid (20) and and VVS Laxman (33) were at the crease when the umpires called for the lunch session. The two Indian wickets were shared by Dale Steyn and Morne Morkel.

India started at a resounding note in the morning but steyn in his third over trapped Sehwag leg before with a delivery which nipped back. Sehwag scored eight runs of 14 balls with the help of two boundaries.

Jaffer also paid the penalty for poor footwork. He pulled Steyn for two fours before paceman Morne Morkel came on and trapped the opener leg before with his fourth delivery. However, batsman showed his annoyance on the decision. He scored 15 runs of 34 balls with three hit to the fence.

After that Laxman joined Dravid and the duo had 50-run for the third wicket till the end of first session.

However, Laxman also survived three half chances, two through the slips and one at the short point region. The 50 runs of India came in 68 minutes of 14.2 overs.

Yesterday, on the first day of the match, after winning the toss and elected to bat, South Africa were bowled out for 265 runs in 86.4 overs with Harbhajan and Ishant Sharma taking three wickets each for the host.

Pak jatha to perform for Manmohan Singh
