Kochi, Apr 12 (UNI) Union Defence Minister and senior Congress leader A K Antony today claimed that his party would have a 'thumping victory'' in the next Lok Sabha and Assembly elections in Kerala.
Addressing a gathering after inaugurating the reception committee of the Ernakulam District Conference of the District Congress Committee here, Mr Antony said Ernakulam district was important for the Congress as the party had fared well in the past elections in the district.
''The party would witness good times and the district camps organised by respective District committees have given an impetus to the party in the state,'' he noted.
Earlier, Mr Antony visited the relatives of the six Congress workers who were killed when a tipper-lorry rammed into a party rally at Pothanikadu in Ernakulam district last month.
