Beni terms BSP, SP ''anti-Muslim''

Barabanki, Apr 12: Samajwadi Kranti Dal (SKD) chief Beni Prasad Verma today alleged that both the ruling Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) in Uttar Pradesh and Opposition Samajwadi Party (SP) were the ''real foes'' of the Muslim community.

''BSP and SP are the political humbug...they have nothing to do with the pain and sufferings of the Muslims. They only know how to placate them by shedding crocodile tears,'' the disgruntled SP leader said at a press meet here.

''Congress is the only friend of Muslims, which has off late worked towards their welfare,'' he underlined.

The SKD chief said the Congress led-United progressive Alliance (UPA) regime at the Centre was leaving no stone unturned for the farmers' welfare. It was persistently striving to pay off the real value of their agricultural farms, It undertook a historical move by bringing forward a 100-day employment under National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (NREGS) and waiving off the farmers' loans.

The UPA was presently framing schemes for the overall development of the Muslim-dominated area, he informed.
