Australia's Brett Lee debuts in a Hindi movie

Jaipur, Apr 12 : Australia fast bowler Brett Lee has realised a long cherished dream of acting in a Bollywood movie. "I wanted to do a Bollywood movie. I am very proud to say that I had a chance. I got amazing people to work with who helped me day-to-day. It's been an awesome experience," Lee said of his role in the film "Victory".

Lee and some Australian cricketers are already in India to participate in the Indian Premier League (IPL), which begins from April 18.

The film's director, Ajit Pal, said the film narrates the tale of a small town boy who eventually makes it to the Indian cricket team in the Twenty20 format.

"It's a film on the life of any modern day cricketer who plays for the national side. It's a story of a small town boy from Jaisalmer who has nurtured the dream of playing for India. How he finally succeeds in making it to the Indian team," said Pal.

The lead role is played by Harman Baweja. Amrita Rao is the main female protagonist of the movie.

The film has evoked keen interest in cricket-crazy India in the wake of the national team's victory over Australia in the inaugural Twenty20 World Cup in South Africa in September last year.
