Amy Winehouse cancels third album recording plans

London, Apr 12 : Amy Winehouse has axed her plans to begin recording for her third album - leaving industry chiefs worrying there will be no new LP from her this year.

Music company Island Records had booked the 'Rehab' singer a trip to the Bahamas to begin her follow-up to smash hit Back To Black with producer Saleem Remi.

Remi was the mastermind behind Amy's debut Frank and was also involved in her second LP Back To Black.

The no-expense spared venture last month was going to be Amy's first attempt to start laying down an album for almost two years.

But she pulled the plug on the trip at the last minute.

"Island wanted to get her away from it all and thought it would be great surroundings for her," The Sun quoted a pal, as saying.

"It was a very expensive trip and it was hoped they would make some decent progress recording the album. But Amy pulled out at the last minute.

"The album was planned for late 2008, but her label is now privately admitting it's unlikely to happen until 2009.

"She's not the kind of artist you can just stick in the studio for a month and get an album done. And I now think early 2009 would be a good result," the pal added.
