Two Senior assistants convicted in ACB cases

Hyderabad, Apr 11 (UNI) The Special Judge for ACB cases today convicted a senior assistant in the office of the Executive Engineer in Housing Board department and sentenced him to one-year imprisonment and imposed a fine of Rs 1000.

The official P Devendra Prakash possessed assets disproportionate to known sources of income to the tune of Rs 8.38 crore, according to a press release.

In another case, the Judge convicted N Kotilingam, a senior assistant in the office of Khammam Municipality and sentenced him to six-months rigorous imprisonment and imposed a fine of Rs 350.

The accused was trapped by ACB officials when he accepted Rs 700 as bribe from a complainant on February 5, 2003.
