Police issues Hue and Cry notice for missing Army officer

New Delhi, Apr 11 (UNI) The Delhi Police today issued a 'hue and cry' notice for an Army Lieutenant who went missing from the New Delhi railway station on Saturday last.

Lt Abhishek R Naik of the 10 Sikh Light Infantry had alighted from a train at the New Delhi railway station on April 6. He was on his way to Bhatinda Cantonment to join his unit after leave.

He was last seen in the waiting room of the railway station and had called up his father Lt Col Rameshwar Naik in Mumbai.

Last seen, he was wearing a blue jeans and a grey T-shirt. The 25-year-old officer has a shallow complexion and stands 5 feet eight inches tall.

9th triennial convention of MSCNTEC from tomorrow

Nashik, Apr 11 (UNI) The two-day 9th triennial state-level convention of the Maharashtra State College Non-Teaching Employees Confederation (MSCNTEC) will start at the H P T Arts College here from tomorrow. Simlipal sealed for tribal hunters

Baripada, Apr 11 (UNI) The authorities today sealed Simlipal National Park and its sanctuary to protect wildlife from being poached by tribal hunters. Besides, a well-equipped anti-poaching combat, involving locals, was launched to assist the Simlipal Tiger Protection Force(STPF) to keep the poachers at bay. Altogether 311 local youths were recruited from the villages located inside the sanctuary to intensify the anti-poaching operation and ''Mass Hunting Excursion'' by the tribals, scheduled to take place from April.....

Over Rs one crore for reclaiming land in Sirsa distt

Chandigarh, Apr 11 (UNI) The Haryana Land Reclamation and Development Corporation has initiated a pilot project with a cost of Rs 1.26 crore to reclaim the waterlogged land in Darba Kalan area of Sirsa district. Giving this information Managing Director of the Corporation, Mr M P Bidlan said that about 900 acres of waterlogged land would be reclaimed in this area.
