Paswan assures timely supply of DAP fertiliser

Chandigarh, Apr 11 (UNI) Union Fertiliser and Chemical Minister Ram Vilas Paswan has assured of timely supply of DAP fertiliser to Punjab before the commencement of kharif sowing season.

He gave this assurance to Punjab Cooperatives Minister Capt Kanwaljit Singh when he called on him at New Delhi today.

Capt Singh told the Union Minister that the total requirement of DAP for the kharif 2008 in Punjab was 2.6 lakh tonnes and so far the entire requirement had not reached Punjab.

Mr Paswan assured that the necessary order in this regard would be issued tomorrow positively and he himself would monitor the supply of DAP.

Red sanders worth Rs 10 lakh seized

Chittoor, Apr 11 (UNI) Forest officials today seized smuggled red sanders worth Rs ten lakh, which was being transported in a lorry, from a check post at Sambasenumitta near Palamaneru in this distict today. According to forest officials, the sandalwood was transporting in water melon-loaded lorry. The lorry was proceeding to Tamil Nadu from Kalakada in Kalikiri mandal of the district. Judge returns petition in CM's case

Puducherry, Apr 11 (UNI) Puducherry Principal District and Sessions Judge D Krishna Raj today returned the petition seeking to file criminal cases against Chief Minister N Rangasamy and two others. The judge cited certain lapses after perusing the petition and suggested that petitioner Janakiraman Reddiyar could approach the competent authority and returned the petition. Mr Reddiyar of Koodapakkam had filed the petition before the court seeking to register criminal cases against Mr Rangasamy and two.....

Police issues Hue and Cry notice for missing Army officer

New Delhi, Apr 11 (UNI) The Delhi Police today issued a 'hue and cry' notice for an Army Lieutenant who went missing from the New Delhi railway station on Saturday last. Lt Abhishek R Naik of the 10 Sikh Light Infantry had alighted from a train at the New Delhi railway station on April 6. He was on his way to Bhatinda Cantonment to join his unit after leave. He was last seen in the waiting.....
