Massive devp in Kupwara, once hub of militants

Srinagar, Apr 11: About 217 rural development works have been completed at a cost of Rs 4.40 crore in the north Kashmir district of Kupwara.

An official spokesman today said under infrastructure development, 31 works have been taken up at a cost of Rs 64.29 lakh, of which four works stood completed and others were at various stages of completion.

He said under Border Area Development Programme (BADP), 463 works were taken up at a cost of Rs 3.02 crore while an amount of Rs 2.88 crore had been expended for execution of 136 works.

Under district plan, 77 works of different nature had been completed at an estimated cost of Rs 53.73 lakh against an allocation of Rs 73.65 lakh, he added.

India, Pak Auditors General discuss cooperation

New Delhi, Mar 13: India and Pakistan today agreed to strengthen cooperation between the Supreme Audit Institutions (SAI) of the two countries in areas of public audit and accounts. Pakistan's Auditor General Mohammed Yunis Khan, currently on a five-day visit o India, met Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) Vijayendra Kaul and discussed with him ways to strengthen cooperation between the SAIs of the two countries. Mr Khan who arrived here yesterday, also met senior officials.....
