Martyrs Day to be observed in Manipur on April 13

Imphal, April 11 (UNI) The Families Committee for Observation of Martyrs Day has appealed to all the people of Manipur to attend the April 13 Martyrs Day observation to be held at Chingmeirong in Imphal West.

Gauhati High Court had laid down that the state government should let the people offer tributes and prayers freely to the nine people of the People's Liberation Army (PLA) who died on April 13, 1982.

Convener of the Families' Committee Thokchom Ranjit said as per the order of the court, the government should not impose any restrictions on the people coming to the Cheiraoching memorial tomb to pay tributes.
