New Delhi, Apr 11 (UNI) Delhi High Court today directed the DDA to get 900 acres of land in Rohini, which was acquired by the Government after, vacated from encroachers and private developers.
A bench comprising Justices A K Sikri and Rekha Sharma directed the DDA to implement their May 30, 2007 order, by which directions were given to clear the land from encroahers, therafter putting sign boards stating the ownership of the government and report back to the court by May 6 this year.
Coming heavily on the DDA, the bench said, "if the court orders are not implimented within the given time period, we will then have to summon the DDA Vice Chairman, Secratary Land and building and the financial commissioner.'' Court commisioner of Rohini Area Rakesh Khanna has informed the court that more than 900 acres of Government land worth Rs 50 thousand crores was acquired by the encroachers and private builders and constructions have come up in a big way there. About 15 to 16 illegal colonies like Sharma colony, Dhruv enclave, Utsav Vihar, Jain colony, Lakhi Ram Park, Rama Vihar, to name a few, have cropped up on the land that have been acquired by the Government.
Acting on the report filed by court commissioner Sanjeev Bhandari (Shahadra South Zone), the bench directed the MCD to take action against all the illegal constructions built on the land in Village Khadolli. The land in this village was alloted for the purpose of 'Dairies' but multi-storey flats have come up there.
