Harshita Saxena surrenders Miss India Earth title

Mumbai, Apr 11 : Harshita Saxena has voluntarily surrendered her Miss India Earth 2008 title here today.

Harshita Saxena took this step in lieu of the allegations raised by Gladrags officials.

Tanvi Vyas has taken her place as the new Pantaloons Femina Miss India Earth 2008.

Earlier, on Tuesday, at a press conference in Mumbai, President of Gladrags beauty pageants Maureen Wadia claimed that Harshita is a model from her company and she is under contract with them.

Maureen also said Harshita could not participate in any other beauty contest and threatened legal action against her.

"Harshita Saxena from Goa is a Gladrags model. She was a part of my Megamodel Contract in April 2006. Her contract has not expired and this girl has entered in some other contest before the contract has expired. The contract clearly says that they have to take my permission," said Wadia.

Harshita Saxena was the third runner-up at the Miss India event held on Saturday night.
