Brit-Indian Sikh wards off knife wielding robber with wine bottle



London, Apr 11 : A British Sikh did not succumb to the threat by a knife-waving robber and chased him with a wine bottle.

Forty-year-old, Jasvinder Bains, refused to give in to threats and instead picked up a 4.99 bottle of Blossom Hill and waved it at the thug.

"When he put his hand on the till I just got angry. I didn't have much time to think. I just wanted to protect myself and my money and to get him out," mirror.co.uk quoted Jasvinder, as saying.

"I've never had anything like this happen to me before and it was a bit of a shock. If somebody knows who he is, please help catch him to stop him doing it to someone else," he added.

Soon after the attack, Jasvinder called the cops.

Police is trying to trace and identify of the thief with the help of the CCTV pictures.

A police spokesman said: "We have made extensive inquiries into this and are renewing appeals for information."

Jasvinder has owned the shop since he came to Britain from India 17 years ago.
