BJP to petition EC on Governor's 'code violation'

Chitradurga, Apr 11 (UNI) BJP Chief Ministerial 'designate' B S Yeddyurappa today said that his party would file a complaint with the Election Commission against Karnataka Governor Rameshwar for violation of election code.

Speaking to reporters during his visit to the district to kick start election campaign, he alleged that Mr Thakur had released Rs 2000 crore for various projects and this amounted to breach of the election code.

Besides he had effected a huge number of transfers of officials and this was done with a vested interest and to help a particular party, he alleged.

Tirumala (Andhra Pradesh), Dec 31: A large number of devotees thronged the temple and heavy rush was witnessed on the occasion of 'Vaikunta Ekadasi', here today. Minor stampede took place in Vaikunta queue complex. More than fifteen pilgrims were injured in the stampede. Some of the injured were admitted to the local hospital. 30,000 to participate in Nithyananda Swami Jayanthi

Bangalore, Dec 30: More than 30,000 devotees are expected to take part in the two-day 30th Jayanthi celebrations of Paramahamsa Sri Nithyananda Swami, to be held here from tomorrow. The healing swamiji's followers from India and abroad would participate in the Kumbabhisheka to be performed by the seer on his 30th birthday. During the function, spiritual leaders of various mutts would inaugurate the Sri Anandeshwar Temple and Nityananda Dhyanapeetam Ashram in Columbus in the US,.....

Modi responsible for Pavagadh stampede

Gandhinagar, Oct 15: Blaming the ruling BJP government for a stampede in the Maha Kali temple at Pavagadh, in which 11 devotees were killed, Opposition Leader in Gujarat state assembly Arjun Modhwadia today demanded judicial inquiry against the Modi government. ''Lakhs of devotees flock the fair in Pavagadh every year. Keeping this in mind, the government should have prepared a proper security plan that could have prevented the mishap. It is all due to the government's irresponsibility that the devotees lost.....
