2 IAS officers get new postings in Punjab

Chandigarh, Apr 11 (UNI) The Punjab Government today ordered the posting and transfer of two IAS and two Punjab Civil Services (PCS) officers, an official release stated, here today.

Mr Satish Chander, Secretary, Planning and Special Economic Package would also hold additional charge of Director, Rural Health Mission and in addition Director, AIDS, Control Society in place of Mr T R Sarangal.

Mr Sarangal will be the MD of Punjab Health Systems Corporation besides holding the post of Secretary, Health and Family Welfare.

Mr Harmesh Singh Pabla, PCS, has been posted as ADC (development) at Ferozpur. Mr Devinder Singh Saroya, Addtional secretary, Housing and Urban Development and NRI Affairs will hold additional charge of Controller Printing and Stationery.

Bank of Rajasthan annual business increases by 27 pc

Mumbai, Apr 11 (UNI) Bank of Rajasthan (BoR), one of the growing private sector banks in India, today said its annual business has increased by 27 per cent to cross over Rs 21,000 crore for the financial year ended March 31, 2008 as against Rs 16,520 crore in the previous fiscal, as per provisional data. According to a recent survey report released by KPMG, BoR was ranked fourth among medium sized banks. It was positioned.....

One killed, twelve injured in separate accidents

Hazaribagh, Apr 11 (UNI) A child was run over and killed by a speedy bus and twelve others were injured, three of them seriously, in separate accidents here today. Police said twelve people were injured as their vehicle dashed a roadside tree in Muffassil police station area of the district. All of them were admitted to Sadar hospital and the condition of three of them was critical. Meanwhile, in another incident, a child was run.....

REC sees PBT at Rs 1,300cr for FY08

New Delhi, Apr 11 (UNI) Rural Electrification Corporation Ltd today said the provisional financial highlights for the year 2007-08 showed it profit before tax (PBT) increase by 29.22 per cent for to Rs 1,300 crore as against Rs 1,006 crore last year. Its loan sanctions increased 84.55 per cent to Rs 60,764 crore for FY08 as against Rs 32,925 crore a year ago. Loan disbursement increased 18.72 per cent to Rs 16,303 crore during 2007-08.....
